Gloves & Disease Prevention
For hand protection, use GL2 gloves and wear nitrile gloves over the top to help prevent the transmission of bee diseases. Alternatively, choose BGL Blue Latex Gloves and immerse them in a washing soda crystal solution to reduce the risk of spreading disease.
Furthermore, associations and clubs recommend nitrile gloves instead of leather gloves, especially for beginners attending courses. In general, wearing nitrile gloves over leather gloves helps reduce disease spread between hive inspections and apiaries.
